Privacy Policy
Effective July 17, 2026 · Last updated July 17, 2026
The short version: Emberly doesn't collect your data. Your cycle information stays on your phone, in an app with no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads. We can't see what you track, and neither can anyone else through us. The only company involved in your purchase is Apple, and they don't tell us who you are.
This policy covers the Emberly iOS app and this website. It's written by Furstenburg Digital LLC, the Florida company that makes Emberly. We kept it short because there genuinely isn't much to disclose, and we'd rather you read all of it than skim something long.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter in Emberly is stored on your iPhone, in the app's own storage area:
- Cycle dates and predictions
- Daily logs: flow, mood, energy, symptoms, sleep, notes, and anything else you choose to record
- Your settings, including reminder preferences
- If you set a PIN, a scrambled (hashed) version of it. The PIN itself is never stored, and Face ID is handled entirely by iOS. Biometric data never reaches the app, let alone us.
None of this is transmitted to Furstenburg Digital or to anyone else. The app works completely offline and makes no network requests with your data.
What we collect
Nothing. Emberly has:
- No user accounts and no sign-up
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No crash reporting services
- No advertising and no ad networks
- No third-party SDKs that communicate with anyone
- No servers operated by us at all
Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to sell, share, lose in a breach, or hand over. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we never have.
Purchases
The free trial and the one-time unlock are processed entirely by Apple as the merchant of record. Your payment details, name, and Apple ID stay with Apple; we never receive or store them. Apple provides us with aggregate sales reports (for example, how many people bought the unlock in a month), which contain no personal information. Apple's own privacy policy governs their side of the transaction.
Backups
Two kinds of backups exist, and you control both:
- Backup files you create. The "Back up my data" button saves a file containing your data, and you choose where it goes: your iCloud Drive, your phone's storage, or anywhere else the iOS share sheet offers. That file is yours. If you save it to iCloud Drive, it's protected by your Apple account under Apple's terms, and we have no access to it. PIN and Face ID settings are never included in backup files.
- Your device's own backup. If you use iOS device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer), Emberly's data is included like any other app's, under your settings and Apple's protections.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled by the app, on your phone, using dates already stored there. No push notification service is involved and nothing about your reminders leaves the device. By default, reminder wording is discreet and doesn't mention periods; you can change that in Settings.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Like nearly every website, the server that hosts it may keep routine technical logs (such as IP addresses and request times) for security and reliability; we don't use these to identify anyone. If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote, and we use them only to reply.
Children
Emberly is not directed to children under 13, and since the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you're a parent with a question about a child's use of the app, write to us.
Your rights
Privacy laws in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Florida, and other states give residents rights over personal data a company holds about them: access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We honor all of them, and in our case they're simple to honor, because we hold no personal data about you. Your data sits on your phone where you can:
- Export it anytime with "Back up my data" in Settings
- Delete it permanently with "Delete all my data" in Settings, or by deleting the app
If you believe we hold something about you (for example, an email you sent us), write to privacy@furstenburgdigital.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.
Security
Your data is protected by your iPhone's built-in storage protections, plus the optional PIN and Face ID lock inside Emberly. We won't claim any system is unbreakable, but our architecture removes the biggest risk entirely: data that never leaves your phone can't be intercepted from us, breached at our end, or misused by our partners, because there is no "our end" and there are no partners.
Where Emberly is offered
Emberly is currently offered in the United States only, and this policy is written for US law. If we ever expand to other regions, we'll update this policy first to cover the laws that apply there.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Emberly handles data, we'll update this page, change the date at the top, and describe what changed in the app's release notes. A change that started collecting personal data would be a fundamental change to what Emberly is; we have no plans for that.
